You know me Barrie, I am just a curious guy.
Just to add to all this, the handle bars also seem to be from a 444 with the gas tank filler on the right. Not sure about the tracks but another odd thing that sticks out is the pull cord being on the right. 444 is on the left. Humm, makes me wonder even more what is under the hood of this racer.
Common Pete, show us what's under the hood.

Good observation Jeannot !! Did you also notice the stainless steel exhaust tip? But this is not a restoration it is more like a resurrection. It is all the leftover parts from previous restorations! This is more like a resto-mod. So yes, the main parts are of a 444 - the handlebars, frame and engine hood. But that's where it ends. So what's under the hood????? 13 hp 4 cycle Honda with electric start. I also upgraded the chain sprocket gear ratio. I am extremely pleased with its performance. I would be willing to race it against your 444 any day lol.

Wow Pete,
Great job, you secretive guy you. The gas and brake handles gave it away at first. What I especially like is the clutches being on the left with normal rotation. We will need to talk about that. One of the engines you sold me is in line for a similar project and I am in the process of trying to figure out the details (Jackshaft, chain gear, etc.). I really want it with the mechanical advance flywheel and will need it to turn opposite a regular Hus Ski, same rotation as your racer.
Again, very good job and I will be in touch sometime. A good summer project for me.

Pete,
What's that in the background of picture 2? Looks like another project. How many of these machines do you have?

Nice job on the Honda conversion Pete. What are running for a gear ratio?

Re: Race ski seater (sleigh)
This is a picture of the Hus-ski that was used with the race sleigh although in this picture it has a standard sleigh. The fellow in this picture worked at the Hus-ski factory in Montreal (although I don’t believe he is the person who actually raced this Hus-ski??). Also, it appears to have a 400 hood and has the headlight delete option. I am not sure if it is like that because it was used for racing or not…
Anyway, I think these vintage black and white pictures of Hus-skis are awesome!
