What is this creature?

A place to ask all your questions about Hus Skis or just a great place to spread a little of that Yellow Pride.

I think that is a valid concern. If a very fine thread was used it might be safe.

So im dealing with this same clutch puller stuff right now too. I tapped the bore 7/8-14 and made a bolt to act as a puller. It worked awesome, clutch came right off! BUT I should have took the first sheeve off first because as you can see in the picture i tried to get that sheeve off after the clutch was off but because i tapped that hole it was too thin and broke the clutch shaft. The clutch i was working on was junk anyways from a few years ago trying to pull it off and bent it so it didnt matter i ruined it. So I think that tapping it does make it too thin but it would be fine if you dont need to take the clutch apart.

Very interesting. Thanks for posting that. My neighbor is done his magic and the puller will be here tonight. I will post pictures. Secondly, if your clutch is garbage, Could I steal the parts or are you salvaging them?

Stop saying "creature" so much. It's weird. And begging for parts on forums? It's not becoming of you.

Great, now Kube1 is on here and I can't really tell him to bugger off since he is my neighbor and the one that machined my clutch puller for me. Anyways...good news! It worked fantastic. I will put a serious of pictures on that explain the process but I am sure all of you can easily see it for yourself. I will also list the specs for the puller and I highly recommend you go to a machine shop and beg them to build you one as it makes a very frustrating job super easy. Here are the pics...

The specs for the puller are:
"outer Cap": Internal thread is 1-20 UNEF LH (Unified National Extra Fine left hand thread). .010 over on the pitch. Kube1 can elaborate if I don't report this correctly but the first attempt was not .01 over on the threads and it didn't fit.

Internal bolt is 3/4 inch bolt with 1-16 UNF thread. He also machined off the bottom part of the threads and put a nice nipple part on the bottom to fit into the crank shaft.

Thanks again Kube1 for building this. Hope this helps someone out there!
