Dog Days of no snow chat 6-7-13

Post by Go Go Diablo » Fri Jun 07, 2013 8:58 pm

Hi all,

Things sure are slow here on the forum. I check in everyday looking for a little witty banter, but it looks like most have hibernated for the summer while they sleep with dreams of snow storms in their head.

If you check in, how about signing in and saying hi to everyone.

On other thoughts, I'm looking for some swap meets to go to this summer. Not much going on between now and into the fall, but if there are swap meets going on in your area, I'd like to hear about them.

Thanks all,

Bruce

No time to hibernate here Bruce. Two weeks ago we had two beaver dams let go. Road into hunt camp is out. Bridges are out. While waiting for road repair, I put up what I call my "retirement treestand". Cutting a little firewood also. I now have a healthy respect for flash floods and the power of moving water. I want to get over to see Barrie, but just haven't had the time. Hopefully things will slow up soon. Here are a couple pics.

Busy here also Bruce. I will have to work all summer, a change from the past 3 years when my boss allowed me to be off without pay for 10 weeks during the summers. Oh well, I still have regular leave to take for fishing this summer and hunting in the fall. Looks like Roy might need some help at the camp. Let me know Roy and did I read correctly, you are now retired?

Not retired yet Jano, but sure starting to think about it. Thinking of planning a work Saturday in August at the camp. Dad is out with heart problems and Al with a serious nerve damaging virus. That leaves me. I'll talk to you soon.

Sorry to hear about that. Let me know and I will help you out anytime. I am planning going up soon to see things and get friendly with the bugs.

There is a big antique car and (hopefully) snowmobile show in Arundel this weekend. Part of the attraction is the gathering of the Model "T" club of Quebec. I will have a few machines there also so if you are inclined to venture this way I would be glad to see you there.

Sorry math i didn't see your post. It was sat and sunday. I met the nephew of the third ownership group that owned hus ski ltd and who then sold it to bolens. Turns out that this nephew has a house in arundel. He was certainly excited to see my display and is to try to get me more info on the history while they owned it. You never know who you will meet at these shows.

Collecting some really nice pictures this year. Keeps me busy during the summer months. Have a look. This spot is on a mountain-top in front of our camp. It would make a great trail in winter.

Great shots Roy, I took this one in the winter of a little guy that was living in our wood shed.

and these are from my trail cam. in the bush behind the house. You have a better trail cam than me. Andy
