The 500 I have is not yet together but when it is together, it will be made up of 95%NOS parts which I have found far and wide.

I've seen a couple of Diablos with no louvers believing they are 500s, and noted they have four bumper brackets. But if you look in the 500 manual, it only shows two.

I think this is a change bolens made in the middle of a production. Hey Rock, does your Diablo have a serial number on it?

To all, I figured out how I can add a picture to your posts like mine to the right (thats if you have not figured it out yet). If you want me to add a pic for you, let me know.

Barrie, When you get that 500 out, you need to take some pics for me.

Mike, Which picture do you want? Choose one I have posted on your page.

Hey all, while we have a few of you on the site, note that you can go in and "edit" your replys. I've been using this to post a quick response and save space when we get a bunch of us online at the same time. I added this reply. Try it sometime.

Several years ago I bought five NOS dashes from a fellow named Bob in Wisconcin> Know him? HAHA When they arrived they were of a thinner plastic than the NOS dashed I have for my 502 & 503 and they had two slots cut in them from where the handlebars pass through. Without these slots, they would not fit on my 500 because of two triangular brackets which are welded to the handlebars and the vertical post on either side of the gas tank. These brackets face backwards.

Sorry Barrie, but still having a hard time interpreting what you are telling about the dash. Only a picture will help because I just can't imagine what you are trying to describe.
