Hi all,

For anybody going to the Midwest Vintage Snowmobile Show in Waconia, Minnesota, we have reserved our block of rooms at the Chanhassen AmericInn.

http://www.americinn.com/hotels/MN/Chanhassen

If you did not receive an email from me tonight explaining the details and want to know what is going on, please shoot me an email letting me know that.

Here's hoping we have a whole bunch of Bolens machines at the show!!!

Hi all,

We know a few more details about the Get Together. First off, a big THANK YOU to Ron E from Buffalo, Minnesota.
Ron lives near Waconia and has gone to the event a number of times. Ron has offered to coordinate our activities at the event. He will be attending some meetings and gathering information and we will share when we can.

This is what we know so far,

- The big Get Together for our group will be Saturday. There will be a special place on the grounds for us to gather all day. We will try and bring in a large heated trailer for a place to snack, drink and mingle.

- The trail ride will not require any special permits or fees. The Club has an exemption, so anyone can ride a vintage sled in the area this day.

- On Saturday, all our Hus Skis and Diablos will be judged for 5 Waconia plaques given out. One each Hus Ski and Diablo Unrestored, Hus Ski and Diablo Restored and one for the combination of Hus Ski/Diablo Best of Show.

That's a great start Ron. Thanks for all your help!!!

A note I sent out to those interested in Waconia:

Hi all,

It's time we start sharing a few details about the Waconia event.

First off, thanks to Ron Elam in Buffalo. Ron is our local host for the event
and has been meeting with the Waconia team to help with set up and all the
details. The Waconia team has been very receptive to our gathering and we expect
a great time to be had by all that attend.

Hotel reservations can still be made yet for a few days if you need a place to
stay. The AmericInn in Chanhassen is where most of us are staying. I would
expect a few of us to gather Friday and Saturday evening in the hotel. All are
welcome.

Regarding the event, Ron and the Waconia Team decided to put our group of sleds
at a corner of the park which is next to the concession stand and the entrance
on to and off of the lake. In the same area, Duane Behnke from Canby, Minnesota
will be setting up his big heated trailer for us to enjoy should it be really
cold.

Fees for the event are $10 each day and this includes the trail ride which many
of us are planning to ride in. No trail permits are required for this ride as
the club has made special arrangements to cover all the vintage snowmobiles on
this weekend. For Saturday morning before the ride, we will do some judging of
our sleds and then hand out some plaques later in the day. Our gathering will
take place on Saturday with Sunday a day to enjoy as you wish.

The Waconia team would like each of us to pre-register. Go to gogodiablo.com and
go to the Waconia Event on the news page for a link to their site. There you
will find a registration form to fill out and send in. Although the main classes
will be judged on Sunday, our group judging will be done on Saturday. If you
want to show your sled in the main event on Sunday, please note that on your
registration. Pre-registration gets you in quick and also gets you a pre-made
sign and an official dash plaque for your sled.

Please note that there is a show banquet on Saturday evening along with silent
and live auctions. The event usually sells out prior to the show so if you are
planning to attend, you need to register early for this. Again, see the
registration page for details.

Regarding our gathering on Saturday, please bring a lawn chair to relax in and a
snack to share. There will be plenty of concessions available from the show
also.

That's it for now. If you have questions along the way, you can contact Ron or I
(see Ron's address above). My cell phone should you need it is 920-676-7562.

Thanks all and looking forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks.
