Hus-ski drive chain
Has anybody had problems with the clip falling or breaking off the master link on the drive chain, then the master link falls apart? I'm wondering if a master link with cotter pins is available, so far searching the internet, I've only found larger size master links with the cotter pins.

Hey Frank when my son was racing Karts we used a pin press for that specific size of chain no clips would there be one for the size on the 444s.They worked great to assemble and reassemble i think i saw them at TSC last week did not pay to much attention as I I'am not there yet.

I have never had one fall apart. When installing the clip, I make sure it points away from the direction of rotation of the chain. I hope this way ensures it stays put should it catch on something.

Re: Hus-ski drive chain
I've put many miles on my 444 and this was the first time that I had a master link come apart. The problem was trying to get it back together out in the woods packed with snow and ice. I called Motion Industies today and they ordered me some master links with cotter pins, I'll give one of these a try. Thanks for all the responses, to Red Devil 500, I know what your talking about, some friends of mine used to race karts. If the cotter pin style doesn't work out, I'm going to do what you suggested. To Barrie, the guy that was the original owner of my 444 told me about putting the clip on the correct way as he had this problem years ago. To Dan the Man, the alignment was good when I restored it, although I didn't check it the other day, I was just trying to get it going again before my fingers got too cold. At least I had a spare master link with me. Again, thanks for the advice.
