clutch offset

Post by BillNH » Tue May 17, 2016 4:03 pm

How much space should there be between the clutch and the motor housing on a JLO 252? Mine has about a 1 inch space, and I am having a hard time trying to set the motor and jackshaft alignment. Every time I gat the clutches aligned, I can't close the hood as the motor is so far to the left that I wouldn't even be able to fit the motor mount bolts, and the hood sits on top of the flywheel housing.
Thanks for any help.
Bill

Hi Bill, I will leave the chassis from the rusty 444 together as well as show you different original models of Hus-Skis so you can see how they are supposed to be. You are going to need one of the motor mount pans like Bruce has the pattern for.( on another topic on this forum) I am considering having 6 to 10 made.

Well, I fixed the problem. Funny how much difference it makes when you turn the secondary clutch back the right way.

I was standing there looking at it and realized that I had put it on the jackshaft backwards.
