Even though the caliper on a HUS-SKI appears to be the same as any other caliper...surprise!!!... it is not. If you install a caliper from another machine , the two pins which operate the brake, will be aligned vertically whereas on a hus-skI those pins must be aligned horizontally so that the actuating arm is in the vertical position (more acurately the 7 o'clock position). On your brake handle there is a special part which holds the brake cable.

Barrie
The caliper has its pins in the horizontol position when installed
Is my arm maybe wrong ?
It is about two and a half inches long
What hooks the cable to the arm?
Can you describe the piece that hooks the handle to the cable so i could make one

Thanks
Bruce

That sounds like a good position. With the small pulley on the floor of the engine compartment, the angle of the cable should be correct. What happens when you engage the brake?

Here are a few photos which I hope will clear up the attaching question for both ends of the brake cable.
