St Ignace MI show

The st Ignace National show has all the makings of a big event for snowmobile collectors. I have booked my room for three days and will be at that show july 12, 13 & 14th. If anyone wants to talk HUS-SKI please look me up. I will be bringing the HUS-SKI prototype from 1958. I just hope the guys at the border believe me when I say I'm going to a snowmobile show and not trying to do some illigal tree falling.

Hi All,

Barrie is on the road heading West to St. Ignace.

I'll be leaving Thursday for a trip east to lower Michigan for a pick-up, and then back north to St Ignace and will be at the show Saturday morning.

Anyone else coming to the show?

Bruce is showing a lot of promise......he drove about 8 hours one way to get this gem and there is no red paint on it!!!

The Ste Ignace show was all it was made out to be and more. The quality of the restortaions was all top notch. Rare sleds was the norm... from the 1930's Elison, to the CAT DRONEs with airplane engines (only 6 ever made and two were at the show), King Cats and MOTO SKI sonic in mint original condition and the winner a restored ROLL-O-Flex that not only was perfectly restored but a beautiful slde to look at also. To my surprise, I was asked to judge a category of these sleds. This was a great experience with much thanks to my partners Rodger and Dale who guided me through the judging process. We were judging the "restored race class". This is funny because the restored race sleds were as far from similar to my prototype as was possible. The winning sled eventually came from our category. There were 21 categories and three sleds picked as finalists from each.

All this being said, there was two great showings by the two HUS-SKI products which were entered in the show. Congratulations to Steve for his restored 444 taking the top place for "Restored antique pre 1968". My HUS-SKI prototype took second place in the "survivor " class.

It was great to meet so many people I had only contacted through the internet and meet so many new snowmobile enthuiasists. Bruce had met with his "picker" and scored a few HUS-SKI parts but I was able to wrestle them from him in the parking lot. It wasn't a pretty sight but you have to do what you have to do.

Did you notice the red ski seater in the trailer? I drove 8 hours and bought that and he threw in the Hus Ski!
