Hi all,

Wow it has been great weather all summer long in Wisconsin. Mid 70's everyday, cool at night, not too wet, not too dry. Can't hardly complain. However, it's almost time to be thinking about winter. We have had several new members join the forum lately and there are many of you out there restoring or fixing up Hus Skis and Diablos with thoughts of snow flakes in your head. Good for you.

For me, I've started my next restorations. I'll be working on a 502 and a 503 this summer. The 503 experience will bring lots of new photos and documentation to the site as I go through that machine. For now, it all about bogie wheels and gearboxes. After that, the chassis restorations will start.

Had a fun conversation tonight with Peter M from Collingwood, Ontario. Seems he knows Barrie and some others in that area. At one time, Peter had all the models of Hus Skis on hand. After a while away from vintage sleds, he is restoring a Diablo and has a fair amount of challenges ahead of him. However, Peter is certainly capable of taming the Red Devil.

On a sad note, if you have been a member of this forum for a while, you may remember me mentioning my Aunt, Uncle and Cousins from the Port Washington Area. My Uncle Dale back in the 60's and 70's worked at the Bolens plant which is the beginning of my knowledge of Diablos. Their son Terry passed away suddenly on Monday at the young age of 51. Terry was a fishing enthusiast and him and his brother Todd have long been Diablo people helping others find parts and answer questions. It will be a sad day at his funeral tomorrow as we lay to rest one of our Bolens kin.

Take care everyone and think snow!
Bruce

Please pass on my condolences to the Plzak family. I have many parts for my Diablos which came from their family.
