11/25/08 Deer Hunting and Carb Cover Chat

Hi all,

Back from four days of deer hunting up at camp. Wow what a poor year. The weather was perfect for hunting with several inches of snow in the woods, but the deer were as scarce as I ever remember going back 35 years. We had 8 hunters in our woods and after hunting 3 of those days, together we only saw 3 deer. We are not sure if preditors (bear, wolves and coyotes) are to blame or that the area has been a Doe Permit area the last 5 years or so. What ever the cause, I hope it changes soon.

Just before I went off to hunt, I received a batch of Re-production Carb Covers now available for $15 each. The carb covers are important because on this motor, they tend to spit or mist fuel out the top. Without the covers, the fuel sprays all over the inside of the hood. The covers tend to hold the mist in and allow it to get sucked back into the motor. Weird design, but a necessity for safety if nothing else.
