Most of you know my dad was a Diablo enthusiast from way back. Well, we are now cleaning out Mom and Dad's house and many of you know that experience. But, Dad had a surprise hidden for me.

If you can guess what NOS Diablo part Dad left for me hidden in the attic, you win a prize. Here are the rules:

- Contest ends October 1st
- Only one guess per member
- Once a part is guessed, it cannot be guessed again by another.
- Respond to this post with your guesses.

Good luck ya all!

Bruce

Hi Bruce, I think it is a drive belt. If it was a stinky greased up part I think your mom would have found it long ago. Andy :D

Well guys, those are good guesses. I will confirm the find early in October. Between now and then, I hope many others will check in with their guesses for a chance to win a prize. Get your guess in early so someone does not beat you to the part you think I found!

Hi Bruce. I wonder if there is a story behind this part or was your Dad a pack-rat like me. I'll guess a nacelle cover. We have frost forecast at the hunt camp for Friday morning. Roy.

I like the guesses all. Keep them coming if you would.

Roy - I have a little story to tell about this part.

We wore my Dad's original Diablo 503 clean out about the late 70's. I must say I was quite rough on it. I remember running over a relatives cloth line pole, smashing into countless trees, putting it through a number of modifications to keep it running and so on. But is was about that same time I found 4 other Diablos and although none of them were in working order, I kept them through the years. At some point I was down to two and by the time I restored my first unit back in 2007 and was taking the best pieces from two to make one, dad was already starting to struggle with his memory. I'm sure he put this part up in the attic so many years ago, he himself forgot all about it. If he had found it in his later years, he might have put two and two together and thought maybe I could have used it.

Keep checking in. If no one guesses the right part a few days before the end of the month, I'll give everyone a second chance.

Hi Bruce, Well, the part that makes or breaks the Diablo is the rubber drive sprocket; so that is my guess. :)

I'll guess a good old bumper.
