Just back from the automotive flea market where I met (Chris)Catman and picked up the two 444's he had so kindly stored for me for a few months. I talked to many poeple who had Diablos or HUS-SKIs. Some of which are members to this site. I was glad to meet you. The saddest story I heard was someone throwing out 10 JLO engines and one complete HUS-SKI!!!! I think they say this to make me drop to my knees and weep.

Hey Rock,
I got your 444 to fire up tonight. Pulled the flywheel off and checked over the ignition. Cleaned up and points and put it back together with Barrie's rebuilt recoil. With a little gas down the carb and a couple of pulls, it started up.
This weekend, I'll clean out the tank and put some fresh gas in it and see how it runs.

Glad to hear that the recoil worked under load. I can uncross my fingers now. I have not yet had a rebuilt recoil break on me but I am always careful that it engages correctly before I pull over the engine. Also be sure to not pull to the end of the cable. These engines usually start with one or two revolutions after three or four pulls.

How was I supposed to attach that handle you sent along to the cable? I used a Diablo handle for now.
Hi Ken, How is that Diablo restoration coming?

Would have been great to meet you Rock. I met the guy you bought your Diablo from. He said he has a lead on a HUS-SKI but wouldn't tell me any more than that.

Hey guys, get a look at Mike N's page on the web site later. He sent me a photo of a Diablo helmet he made with red horns to match the little Go Go Diablo devil. I'll try and get that picture on the site within the next half hour. Also note that Jeff R sent me some pics tonight too. I'll add those also.

I'm very glad to hear that it's running good. Can't wait to get it in Kap and put both my Bolens in the show in July. People are very excited that I'll be in the show this year.

All that was needed for the handle was the cable pincher from a diablo handle. They appeared to be the same from comparision of my Diablo handles.
