444 Restoration Help

could someone please tell me the dimension from the top of the hood to the lower lip of the scoop

I have 2 hoods that appear to have original expanded metal in them. 1 measures 3/4" and the other 7/8". When I restored mine and had to replace the expanded metal, I went with the 3/4" dimension based on other machines that I looked at. Maybe Barrie has some info as well.

It is a dimension with a bit of variation. Up to 1" would be accurate, 3/4" just seems too low for me, 7/8" is great. By the time you weld on the grill the dimension may shift.

OK, on the next one I will put at 1" and see how that looks.
