I am Jim Warburton. I live at Poplar Point, Manitoba. About 45
minutes west of Winnipeg. I found this site when I was looking for an engine
for my huky 600. I had a recoil problem years ago and removed the starter
and set it on top of the tank while I started it with a rope. unfortunately
when it started the vibrations bounced the starter off the tank and the
cable hit the fins on the fan and wiped them all out. I didn't use it much
after that and it just sat out side. The motor siezed up over the years and
I hoped to find a motor for it. In my search for an engine I recently was
directed to a man who used to sell them and he said bring it over and he
will try to get it fixed for me. He has a soft spot in his heart for those
old machines. I hope he can get it running. If not I may be looking for a motor.
I need to do the tracks and skis
but it is all fixable. I would like to completely restore it over the
summer, but for now I would just like to get it running. Fortunately I
pulled the tracks off it many years ago and stored them in a shed. The
cleats will have to replaced, but maybe the belts will still work. If not I
know where I can get belting. We got it used in 66 or 67. It had the double
track on it when we got it. I will be getting in touch with Barrie and Bruce for
some skis and accessories. If any one has a L252 motor for sale please let me know Jim
ps I really like this site.

Welcome Jim and thanks for sharing your story. I look forward to some pictures as you rebuild and enjoy your journey. When I get a chance, I'll post the picture you sent me on the friends tab and make a new entry.
