Hello (and Hi, Barrie); I've recently joined this forum to solicit help in solving a mystery.
A friend of mine is trying to remove the flywheel of a JLO L152 engine and I want to help him. I've measured, using Vernier calipers, the minor diameter of the flywheel's threads at 28.12mm which suggests to me that the major diameter is 30mm. Using a thread gauge, I've measured the pitch of the flywheel's threads as 1.5mm.
Accordingly, I purchased the Dennis Stubblefield Sales MP#4 puller:

- Dennis Stubblefield Sales MP#4 flywheel puller, 30mm diameter x 1.5mm pitch right hand male thread.
- DSC04160 MP4 puller, 30mm-1.5mm.GIF (917.05KiB)Viewed 5013 times
but found to my consternation that it would not thread into the flywheel! It turns about one full thread, then binds, as though the thread pitch is wrong.
Yet, in this post at the vintagesleds forum:
http://vintagesleds.com/bs/index.php/to ... #msg874838
user fp1967 also states the thread dimensions as 30mm x 1.5mm.
I intend to post at both this and the vintagesleds forum in the hope that, with a concerted effort, we will solve this mystery.
Thanks, and looking forward to success.
