Hus-ski ski's
Could someone give me the dimensions and type of wood used for the ski's and track lugs on a hus-ski 600

Re: Hus-ski ski's
Hi there: I used hard maple for the track grousers (cleats). The skis are maple too. Barrie makes a beautiful set of ski's. I got mine from him and had Bruce put wear skins on them. I am building a spare set of tracks and need to get back at it and put spar varnish on the cleats and rivet them and the ice cleats on my old belts. Make yourself an acurate drilling jig so that the holes line up and drill them on the press drill. Good luck. Jim Warburton

Thanks Jim I thought I saw somewhere they were made from hard maple, when I bought this the guy gave me one old ski and it was made from plywood. I plan on building a steam box and bending my own ski's, we'll see how that goes.

the grouser pieces are 1-1/2" x 3/4" x12" for your 600. Ill be glad to help you through the bending process but I think somewhere in this forum I have done some postings on the subject of ski bending.
