The kill switch on the jlo engine is the emergency stop when the key freezes. However sometimes they dont function. Why they dont work is mystery to me since they contain one moving part and a spring. I dismantled this one to try to fix it.

I epoxied the contact to a nylon washer. Before assembly the contact end was cleaned of the excess epoxy

Re: Jlo kill switch
Inside the casing of the kill switch is a ridge which holds the washer a certain distance from the button. The nylon washer was pushed into place and securred there by swedging the rim of the casing. The original casing was rolled over to hold the washer but this must be ground off to disassemble. This switch is now as good as new. I also discovered that the casing was brass so i polished it to show the brass.

I was lucky to have the nylon washer however the same repair could be done with a washer cut from thick Formica or any other non conductive material.

The primer bulb from briggs and stratton works great but the color is a bit controversial.
