Hello folk's could I get some opinions on which paint & colour codes to use to try and match up to the original yellow colour? I found the following post from Barrie back in 2009 and was wondering if this is still the current product to use?
Also what type of paint is the DUPONT code 509-A..ie epoxy (if this is still what is being used)?
I'm going to have to build a temporary spray booth in the shop to spray the paint and the volatility of the paint will determine how much protection I need to account for.
Appreciate any advise.

With the new paint content restrictions, I was forced to find a new paint for the remining HUS-SKIs that I have not yet restored to complete my collection. It certainly is not a good plan to change paint products in mid stream but what I have found seems to be a perfect match and perhaps more available to more HUS-SKI restorers. I had a paint chip from my original mix, scanned. It matched up with a NASON by DUPONT color for FIAT/LANCIA cars . The paint is called Tropicalia yellow with the code 509-A. An epoxy primer with two coats of this paint and your machine may be good for life.

Altough this paint is called"water based" it is extremely dangerous for our respiratory system. Skin contact should also be avoided. You will need a lot of air evacuation if spraying indoors.

Thanks Barrie, so I assume this paint is still available and preferred, would you happen to know what the base is...ie epoxy, urathane etc?

I believe it to be Urethane based. It is not a base coat-clear coat product.

I took the colour reference (NASON by DUPONT 5-color for FIAT/LANCIA cars, Tropicalia yellow with the code 509-A) to all the automotive paint dealers in my town and they couldn't reference the colour, or any of Dupont paints for that matter. They all want a sample and I don't have a good one.
Would anyone else happen to have a colour reference under a different brand name that is close?
Regards

I finally found it, I needed to go to a specialty automotive paint dealer, vs the Car Quest type places.

I am getting ready to get the paint for my 600. How much will I need of the yellow and the black. Is there a paint code for the black? Jim

I can't say what the black is, but this is the yellow I have used. In opinions of a number of people that have seen this color, they all agree it is a spot on match. Plus it is a standard color yellow available at most automotive paint stores.
In regards to the black, Dupont Nason also has a nice black standard color.

Too many Diablos and parts to count.

I bought John Deere agriculteral yellow from the John deere dealer for $60 bucks a gallon and John Deere primer for $35 bucks a gallon. The paint covered nice with a HVLP sprayer bought from Harbor Freight for $14. I used a half a gallon of paint to paint my 400.
