444 yellow paint

A place to ask all your questions about Hus Skis or just a great place to spread a little of that Yellow Pride.

444 yellow paint

Post by Jano » Mon May 16, 2011 3:05 pm

Well I took apart the 444 and repaired the cracked frame and modified it to give me a little more track clearance. I'll post some pictures later for those interested. I would like to know what color code is used for the yellow. I believe Shawn's yellow was very close if not the same as mine. Barrie mentionned in an old post, ZY1 01 8FL2 yellow automotive paint. Anyone used it?

Thanks

Jano

I called my local parts store that mixes paint and gave them those codes and the only one they could do anything with was the WIlson's ginger ales. They found that in there book and it turned out great!

Barrie,
Can I get it at any paint shop or do you have a particular place you get it? Also I sent you a message about getting wood cleats and a couple of sliders. There's no rush and I would pick them up sometime this summer. let me know.

Huuksnatch,
Which Parts store did you deal with and can I get the same paint shipped here to Canada? I have been trying to get it here at different parts stores without succes.

Thanks.

Jano, I suggest go to you local John Deere dealer and purchase John Deere agricultural yellow paint. It is in liters or gallons and priced right!! Looks as close to the original as i can see and is the best covering paint I have ever used. Duke

I too have used the standard John Deere Yellow. It matches the original to my eyes. Dupont makes a brand called Nason and the paint is a standard mix so it's always the same and usually readily available at most paint stores at a great price.

Isn't that yellow paint just a primer? Before you paint them red? I think I heard that somewhere last winter. On a video somewhere. Hmmm??? Good one Randy!
