I need to understand where the 3 wires are supposed to go. I know there is one for the ignition, another for the lights, but the last one, which is white in color, wasn't hooked to anything when I got this Diablo. Can someone help me understand where this white wire is supposed to get hooked up to. Thanks in advance,Diablo Dave

Hi Dave,

Your talking the 3 wires from the engine block. I am not aware of any white, but thats not to say any wires were changed at some point. Mine had black ( engine points), brown (engine ground) of which both went to the ignition switch, and red (lighting coil) to the light switch. The wires coming off the light switch to the headlights were yellow on my Diablo.

I made up a wiring diagram for the 502 I can e-mail you.

I've only got 1 wire going to the ignition switch, then there is another wire that ground to the frame from the switch. Is that not correct? I'll have to get a better look at things tomorrow & check back in.

I just took a quick look, and yes the brown to the switch was pigtailled and also came off the switch to chassis ground.(the bolt that secures the handle to the chassis) The only other wire was a black(ground for headlights) off bolt for recoil to headlights.

I think all grounds should go to your engine. If you look at it, your engine is only grounded to the chassis by the exhaust. If it comes loose or rusted , there goes your ground. It might even try to ground through the throttle or brake cable. Not good. Roy.

This one should be easy. Is the taillight wire just split off of the headlights, or does it get it's power from somewhere else?
