Hus-ski 600

I went to pick-up my "new" Hus-ski 600 today. I haven't had a lot of time to look it over too closely, but it appears to be fairly complete and very restorable. Need a muffler and the cowling has been cut up in a couple of places so I'll work with what I have until Bruce can find me another one. ;) It also came with 4 spare sprockets. Does anyone have some pictures of the motor compartment of a 600? I need to know what the muffler configuration looked like.

Thanks Rock. That's what the hole is for in the base of the dash plate. The muffler outlet points back toward the driver?
Your sled looks to be in very good shape.

It looks like you got it with the JLO engine and won't need to try to adapt the Sachs? I was one of the guys that answered your question on the other sight about making an engine run in reverse. The exhaust points back and also there is like a sheet metal tube on the back side of the firewall that the exhaust pipe runs through. I don't see these sheet metal tubes on all the 600s, so I don't know if they all didn't have them or if people take them off and eliminate them. Barrie would know more about this.

I found a picture with the sheet metal tube that I was referring to. This is not my machine or pic, I saved it off the internet, probably from this site.

Yes, after discussing it with the seller, he very kindly suggested the motor should stay with the sled. :D I let him decide, as he is a friend and has about 3 old Ski-doo "tin cabs" 1961/62? (I'm not a Ski-doo guy) I guess they originally put these JLO's in those Ski-doos? He had originally told me he wanted to keep the motor for one of these restorations. He is a great guy, and I told him if he ever wants the motor back, he knows where it is. Therefore I am still going to get my little 275 Sachs set-up for the 600 machine as well. I was looking for something to put the Sachs in anyway. The "firewall" is still there on my machine. Thanks for your replies and help.

Frank,

The picture of the 600 dash you had was mine. This 600 went to Rod in Luxemburg, WI and he brought it to the workshop this summer restored. It's looks much better now that when he got it :D

Does anyone have any manufacture/model information or pictures as to what the correct tail light should be?

The taillight should be the same as any HUS-SKI sled.
