Judging by the pictures, I'd have to say that's a machine you'd need to put with you're collection! ;) I've seen these go for $1000 & not in that nice of shape

Looks too good to pass up. In the second picture, notice the pitting around the battery box, my 503's were similar (although much worse), this might be inhierant to spilt acid? Also looks like the exhaust pipe disconnected from the muffler?

I agree Rock - A 503 would be a great addition to the every growing fleet of articulating snow machines up in Kapuskasing.

The rust around the battery box is common. I think I remember Barrie showing us that he cut his battery box off so he could clean and preserve the area. Then welded the box back in place. Not a bad idea for a restoration.

For sure the handle bars are correct. The 503's had a different throttle set up than the others. As for the wife I prefer the U.S. Military route "Don't ask, Don't tell." Besides if it just shows up one day what can she say, take it back! :D

I'd be a little kinder. I suggest that of all the Hus Skis and Diablos, this model with the electric start would be best suited for her via the easy starting capability of the machine.

Now Dave, I doubt you are talking to Mrs Bottomsup that way. I've seen her after a few Martinis and she is no pushover. Sure looks good on the back of that Diablo too.

You're right Bruce, she usually just doesn't bother asking what it is i'm bringing home. i think that's because after 10 years with me she knows it'll be a snowmachine of somekind. I always try the approach that it is her NEW RIDE. That's even getting to be a hard sell these days.

Hey Rock

Didn't you have this same problem with the 600 Hus-ski purchase a month ago? :P
