saturday ride

I dropped in on a friend today and ened up going on a 15 km ride. Snow conditions were difficult with 6" of new sticky snow. This caused snow buildup on the cogs which in turn causes track tension beyond the norm and reduced engine power. Nevertheless no one needed a tow

Me and joe went on a short ride yesterday I on the 503 and joe on the 502. About 5 miles. Both ran great but when I shut down my 503 it backfired and popped. It was pretty warm out thus the short ride. Any ideas on why the back fire ?????? Last Saturday we went on a 19 mile ride ! It was great. Lots of thumbs up and smiles from fellow vintage riders. Even an occasional what the hell is that?...
looking forward to spring so we can start restorations
any ideas or comments on the backfire would be appreciated! Another warm day here about 39degrees today . Got another 8" of snow on Friday with more coming on mon.tues.and wed.

In case youu are wondering why all that lettering on the photo...my photo reducing feature on my computer disappeared so I tried this one . It worked very well and could convert any photo into about two dozen different types. What I was really hoping it would do was convert any red machine into a HUS-SKI but it appears that it will not.
