Spray silcone on the rim.....Soak your rubber bogie's in hot,very hot water will slip on very easy.Silcone will not eat the rubber in the long term like grease

Heating the hinge knuckle and applying oil usually solves the "stiff hinge" problem but these hinges are cheap, readily available and exactly the same dimensions as the originals. It was an easy switch.

It was a busy weekend in the paint room. Hopefully this is the last red paint I spray for a while. If you look closely, you will notice some strings hanging from the handlebars. I attached a string to the end of the brake and throttle cables before I removed them. Now I will reattach the string to the cable and pull it back through the handlebars.

Barrie, the Red looks nice in the pictures. What paint are you using for the red and the white?

This is a paint by DUPONT called Orient Red. It is an original color for my MGA. I'll get the product number tomorrow.

It has been a while....I was hoping all that red would just disappear but no such luck. I have done a bit of assembly in the past few days and low and behold a Daiblo has emerged from that enormous plie of red parts. I scratched a blad spot on my head wondering where some of the parts were and when I found them I scratched some more to figure out where in..... they went. I made new rubber for around the transmission and made one small change. I made it without the cut at the rear so that it fits around the gearcase at installation. Mine slips over the gearcase from the top and makes a complete seal around the gearcase. The next three machines should be quicker than this one as I now have two complete assemblies under my belt. I am hoping to avoid a few of those "put together, take apart " sequences which I find to be all too common.

Looks sweet Barrie! Its alittle slow at work latley so i have read all 8 pages on "Seeing Red" and i couldn't tell ya how fired up i am to start to restore my 444! Plan is to start next monday and can't wait to be "seeing Yellow!"
