Onward with the Clutch Rebuild. Unfortunately, the sliding half of the clutch was badly worn inside. So I pressed the clutch apart and put on a NOS tri-pod with a good sliding half of clutch.
One additional note of interest is all the Salsbury Clutches I've seen have two snap rings grooves in them. Most often the tri-pod is high on the shaft covering the lower of the two grooves. The tri-pod is in this position when using wider belts in other applications. However, the Diablo takes a very narrow belt. Therefore, the tri-pod needs to be pressed down the shaft until the second snap ring groove is in the correct spot for the ramp plate installation.
Once together, I installed a NOS Spring and shaft kit and a NOS Ramp Plate.
To top off the 2 NOS Clutches, I installed an NOS 180-1047 Bolens Drive Belt. Makes for an awesome looking clutch set up

Re: Seeing a wonderful shade of Red!!!!
The wooden Seat Frame is made from a 9-ply Baltic Birch plywood. Regular 3 or 5 ply plywood has a tendancy to warp and the 9-ply stays straight and is of excellent quality. Onto the frame, we put an extra firm foam referred to as FR2680. The front and back edges are glued with spray adhesive and the inside corner is stapled into the wood.
The seat cover is one of our reproduced covers. The original heat pleat pattern has been reproduced by an upholstery company in Oregon. This top piece is then shipped to another upholsterer in Wisconsin where the cover is sewn together. The cover is stretched over the frame and stapled the full length of the edges.
It's the next best thing to an NOS Seat.Too many Diablos and parts to count.

The NOS Diablo is complete. Took it for it's inaugural mile ride and it ran like one would expect. I suspect this is what they were like when new.

Sean - Thank you for the kind words.
To top off an unusual restoration, custom covers are needed. It's the least one can do after all that hard work.

Re: Seeing a wonderful shade of Red!!!!
I've thought about making covers for Hus Skis. I have the screen print design for the Hus Ski logo complete (this is the logo I put on the banners). I've also checked into Marine Vinyl and have not found any yellow or mustard color material like this. I have found some good duck cloth of the correct color though. The next step is to get a Hus Ski home and start the process of making a pattern and I've just not had time for that.
Sorry, Hus Ski covers may need to wait until next fall.
