SPRINT 315 twin cylinder

Post by Barrie2777 » Sun Aug 26, 2018 11:07 am

This is my next project sled. Although neither a hus-ski or a diablo it is in the BOLENS family and probably deserves some space on this informative site. This is the first conventional machine I am restoring. I anticipate it to be simpler than a hus-ski or diablo.....ask me at the end!!

Does this mean your 600 with the twin carbs is complete and ready for next winter?

The second carb doesnt draw gas. A little more time on it still needed.

Here we have a bare bones SPRINT. Of coarse many of these parts I have never seen before..like suspension springs! What a novel idea. A self lubricating chain via a tube from the engine base?? And two cylinders for a whopping 21 hp! Better hold on tight!

Dismantling was quite easy. Only one bolt had to be cut off and heat was only needed to remove the bearings from their respective shafts and separate the halves of the front drives.

The backrest is the only part suffering from severe decay. A simple cut off and weld back.

Minor repairs to the fiberglass hood are filled as well as some pitting and dents on the tunnel.
