Re: 200
Using some photos of a original metal snow flap I was able to make my reproduction as close as possible to an original. After test fitting it and then welding it in place, the snow flap is ready for paint. I also applied a temporary coat of primer to the front fender to see how smooth I was able to make the fender after hammer and dollying it. My next step is to assemble all the body parts to make sure it all fits properly and then disassemble it and take to the sandblasting yard to remove all the old paint, temporary primer and any surface rust (but that will be later this summer). In the meantime, I still have tracks to rebuild, skids to rebuild and many other small details to complete.

Re: 200
It’s been a very busy summer and I haven’t had too much time to work on this hus-ski. I have made some progress. I did fit all the body parts together and everything fits nicely but that’s all I have completed on the body so far. I did not have time for media blasting and painting. I got the seat and backrest ready. I also had a pair of NOS skis and runners and the skis just needed a light sanding and re-varnishing (3 coats) and the runners just needed some paint before assembling the runners and skis with brand new rivets and washers and now they are ready to be used. The next item on my list is to build a new set of tracks. I am hoping to get this done this fall sometime and will post pictures.

Re: 200
For the seat, I traced a new piece of plywood from an original seat. Installed new T nuts for the bolts, painted the wood red and gave it a coat of varnish to seal it. Then I sent it to a professional upholstery shop along with an original seat so they could duplicate the stitching pattern. It turned out as close as possible to an original.

Re: 200
Next I turned my attention to the skids removed them for inspection. The stainless steel covers were showing some cracking and wear and after removing the covers to inspect the wood they also shows signs of rot resulting in both parts needing to be replaced . I used both the stainless steel cover and the skid as templates to make new ones. Now with the skids ready to be installed the 200 is one step closer to completion !

Re: 200
Tracing out the new skid and cutting it on a bandsaw to get the correct shape then 3 coats of varnish to seal the wood.
