Re: 200A
Good to see so many guys with keen eyes. I would also say 200 for the handlebars and sliders. Both were early design features. Thd aluninum adjusting clutch was second generation 200-A so i think we can safely assume the morse chain clutch failed as they were prone to and a more updated clutch was installed. Is the brake drum separate to the secondary or attached to it?

Re: 200A
So Barrie, the flat handlebars and slider design was never carried over to the early 200A model which did use the aluminum clutches. So is that correct? So you are saying this is definitely a 200 that would have original had the Morse clutches on it? And at some point it has had the Hus-ski clutch design retrofit done to it?
I took a couple of pictures of the brake drum you asked about it appears to definitely be riveted to the stationary side of the secondary clutch.
Maybe this weekend when I have more time I will post the instructions about retrofitting Hus-ski's own clutch design.

Re: 200
I've got an early 200A that has the stainless pieces over the sliders. It also has an all steel drive clutch and the cast aluminum hood latch with the Hus-ski logo. I believe that this machine is pretty original. I bought it from a 90 year old guy that bought it used when it was less that a year old. It had one winter on it before he got it.

Re: 200
Hey fap67 I too had a similar Hus-ski to that and not to beat a dead horse to death, LOL but I bought this Hus-ski in 1978 from the original owner and I used it for many winters and the person I bought it from told me it was a 200 (but now I am not sure). Here are some facts about it: -
-it has bent up handlebars - 200A ?
-bent tube infront of skis on the sleigh - 200A ?
-Morse clutches - 200 ?
-stainless steel skids - 200 ?
So if 200A's had bent up handlebars and aluminum clutches what the heck is this Hus-ski ? 200 or 200A ?

Re: 200
cleaned and inspected the gas tank ,then filled it with METAL RESCUE to make sure the inside is absolutely clean and rust free. During my inspection I found a crack in the solder where the filler neck joins at the tank, because of the size of the crack and that I suck at this type of soldering I was forced to send it out to be repaired ! they did a FANTASTIC repair on it. I also replaced the gas cap and shut off valve with new ones. Now it just needs to be painted.
