Re: When is it a spark plug & when it is more serious????
Oops, paragraph 3 somehow got deleted: The last 2 paragraphs have to do with a Honda GC160 4 stroke that was giving me grief on a log splitter.

Re: When is it a spark plug & when it is more serious????
I had something similar a couple of years ago, including backfires that would wake up the dead and lying in bed at night trying to figure it out. I dicked around with it for days, driving me crazy - finally I got it: when I had installed the new condenser I had tapped on the little center nub to dri...

Re: Hus ski clutches 101
I'm not sure why, but after going to all of that trouble with the photos, they are now no longer available with the post.
If anyone comes across this as part of their research into pulling one of these apart, contact me at mikeor.cbay@gmail.com and I can get you the pictures.

Re: Hus ski clutches 101
I should have mentioned: see Bruce's post from August 23rd, below, and Barrie's response on clutch removal. I did try Barrie's wedge method, but figured there could be something better. On my first engine, the wedges would likely have done the job. On the second, I did try using tire irons as wedges...

Hus ski clutches 101
I recently had to pull a couple of primary clutches off of the 148cc JLO (Type L152R) out of the 200A's, to replace crank seals. Not an easy job. These clutches may (or may not) have been on there for 50-odd years and some more than others are reluctant to come apart. I am indebted to Barrie for his...

Re: Hus-Ski 200 quandry
I just pulled a 200A chassis apart, and the motor mount area looked exactly like the photos that Bruce posted. As with your machine, someone had improvised some plates, etc. to kind of hold the motor in in place. It appears that the area where the motor mounts was a weak point in these machines, lea...

Re: Diablo Down
Hi Roy, Bruce, et al I finally had a chance to spend some time on gogodiablo and saw your post. I agree with Bruce: I would consider it a leakage issue, not oil. Everything that I have seen and done over the last few years, particularly with vintage bikes, leads me to believe that if you run good qu...

Calling all Hus-Ski and Diablo riders
Februrary 19th is our 5th annual run from Constance Bay ON to Quyon QC. Anyone who has been along in previous years will tell you it is a great ride with great camaraderie between riders of all kinds of different sleds. Last year the award for oldest sled went to a 200A. Unfortunately on account of ...

Re: Silly spark plug question
An AB7 and an A7 are essentially the same plug.
The A7 (as originally fitted) takes an 18mm. plug wrench (same as all of the Rotax singles, for instance)
The AB7 uses a standard 13/16" plug wrench.
That's the only difference, either will work just fine.
