Asking everyone to check in! 7/23/14

Post by Go Go Diablo » Wed Jul 23, 2014 10:29 pm

Hi all,

If you are on the mailing list, I just sent out a newsletter to over 500 fellow Hus Ski and Diablo enthusiasts. Kudos again to my son Joey ( the programmer genius ) for setting up a new email account. If you did not get that newsletter and would like to, email me at bruce@gogodiablo.com.

For those who received the email, I asked you to check out the forum, sign in and say hi to everyone. So here is the post to do that. I hope many of you take a moment to do so.

Thanks all,

Bruce

Hi all from Ottawa, Ontario.
My 444 is pretty well ready and my 503 is up on jacks with the tracks off. That one needs a little more work and will then be ready for another winter with lots of snow, I hope. Hope to see many of you during the winter at some event or other.

Y'all have a great summer.

Jeannot.

Hello from Markdale, Ontario, I have a bit of work to do to get ready for the winter, want to put metal cleats on my 444 and new sprockets on the 502. I have the parts from Bruce, just need to find the time. Hey! maybe putting sprockets on a Diablo would be a good topic for a fall workshop!! Andy

Hi All: The 600 is in the storage shed with a cover on it. The fuel has been drained. She is all ready to go next year. Hoping for snow and a chance to attend some local vintage rides. Jim

Checking in from Gatineau Quebec. Putting my 2005 Tundra R back together and then on to the Diablo. Work has been accelerated and the "honey-do" list put on hold, ever since the muffler hanging up in the garage got bumped and fell on my better half. Glad I wasn't with-in throwing distance of that muffler. I noticed one morning last week that it was quite dark out at 5 am and realized that the days have been getting shorter for a month already. Winter will be here before we know it. I won't miss the deer-flies for sure. They are as bad this year as I've ever seen them. Have a good summer all. Roy.

Hello from Arundel Quebec. I finally fixed that 600 single track which wouldn't start at a show in February. I've also made a few thousand bales of hay, planted some corn and barley, resorected our 1946 Cockshutt tractor, replaced the mg slave cylinder and..... Where does the summer go?

Hi Bruce and everyone else... just finally getting around to checking in. Had an extremely busy summer and summer is now slipping away to fall - before you know it, winter will be here. (and by the way Bruce, looks like almost everyone who has checked in has been from north of the border lol :D Just an observation!)
I picked up another restoration project this summer, a little bit crispy as the professionals like to say! but I think like Bruce once said, it is a diamond in the rough. Before I can get started on this, I still need to sell a couple of machines to free up some space and some cash.
Last winter I posted some info on a possible replacement for a hus ski gas tank and I am just curious if anyone has tried this solution and if they have, what are their thoughts on it.
The question for Bruce - has there been any thought of where the official hus ski /diablo get together might be this winter? I know it is early but it will come quickly once the snow falls.

Here are some pictures of the new project.

Hi Peter,

Another Hus Ski project? That should make Joan happy :o And yes, I did notice you Canadian Folk are far more attentive to the works in the forum. A true compliment to Canadian Enthusiasm.

No thoughts yet regarding the 2015 Get Together. I will send out an email in the next month or so asking for suggestions and we will vote on options like we do every year.

Good to hear from you!

Just checking in from NH, the 503 is as ready as it can be for the summer. Maybe I'll get to ride more than my back yard this year :D .
