If your handlebars have no gussets, why a dash with gusset slots? The 500's made later had a gusset sticking out toward the handles which is why the gusset slots are there. There is more information about this on the web site. Look under the chassis page.

I guess what I'm saying is that if you don't have any gussets, you don't need a dash with slots. It might make your search a little easier.

Regarding gussets, when I was ruffling through a box of NOS parts, I came across a new pair of gussets. I can only guess that Bolens must have been selling them as an upgrade for a weak handlebar.

All I know is that I don't have any gussets and I don't need them.

I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE HNDLBR IS BENT DOWN ON THE RT HAND SIDE THEY MAY HAVE INSTALL THESE GUSSETS AFTER TO STRNGHTEN IT
