3/11/08 Chat - Still time for a Diablo 08' Get Together?

Hi all,

I'll be around later tonight. What I wanted to throw out there is if there is still time for a Diablo Get Together yet this year. Nothing fancy. Just meet somewhere, bring your Diablo if you can. I know of at least a half dozen of us within a few hours of each other. We can talk more later.

Still not sure what's up with the time shown on the front page. It's an hour slow and did not change with Daylights Savings. Anyway, if it says 7, it's really 8 and time to chat.

I'd like to get together with some other Diablo fans. Sounds like a good idea Bruce, where were you thinking about meeting?

Well, I have not started thinking too hard yet. Let me think here. In Wisconsin, I know guys with Diablos in Suamico (2x), Port Washington, Horicon, McFarland, Leona, Kewaunee, Merrill, Jackson, Oconomowoc, Brillion, Pipe, and Berlin. Thats 13 just in Wisconsin. If we could get two or more of us together for a cookout, I'd consider that the 1st Annual Diablo Gala.

With this next weekend coming too soon and the following weekend Easter, it may be too late to actually drive around some where after that. I don't know, what do you guys think?

A central location would be best, but if Horicon would work, I've got a shop that would work out just fine. That's were the Bottoms up comes from, it's my duck hunting club house. It's more like a home away from home. There is a DNR parking lot very near for parking & i've got a grill & fridge at my shack. I'm sure we could make something work on my end here

I think what we would have to do is pick a date and I can send out some emails. Dependant on those who respond, we could pick a place. I'm all for your offer. What do you suppose the chances are that there will still be snow down in Horicon the last weekend in March?

At the current rate I'd say not good. It would still be good to get together with fellow Diablo fans & see what everyone is up to & talk. Lots of information out there that we could find more about.

I see two thoughts. One is we try and do it soon and meet somewhere up by me where I suspect there will still be snow. The other is to pick a date now for April and forget about the snow and just plan to meet. Could still bring Diablos to show if we want. We could post a question in the General Section and ask opinions. I could also post something on the front page of the website.

I see Dave is on-line. Hey Dave, feel like taking a drive to Wisconsin Oops, now Dave left us. We must not be compelling company Dave.

Whatever the plan for a date, I say bring the Diablo's for viewing pleasure. That would make a great photo for the front page of the website

Ok, I agree. Lets do two things:

You go into the General Tab and put out a post for a get together and gather feedback. Pick a date in April that works for you. The two that don't work for me are the 12th and 19th. Hopefully one of the others work for you.

I'll go onto the web site and add a note that people will see telling them of the idea and where to go to add feedback. I'll also shoot out some emails.

When we get some responses. We can go from there. How does that sound?

Bruce, It's done. I posted the date as april 26. Thats about the only one that would work for me as the 2 dates you listed are also busy for me. Hope we can have some responses to this. Talk to ya later, I'm out
