Canada Day has always been a celebration here in Arundel. For many years I was at very involved in the committee organizing Canada Day celebrations. With only 500 residents and many cottagers, it was always necessary to plan events on weekends even if July 1 fell on a weekday. The most eyebrows were raised the year we celebrated Canada Day on July 4th. We still had a blast!!!!!! I always laugh when I recall that event.

What is Canada Day a celebration for?
