jlo 152 bent crank

i just restored a jlo 152 new bearings seals piston ect only to find a wow in the crank has any one run into this can it be bent without tearing it all apart agine :x :?:

You probably need an expert opinion about bending it back to "true" position. Is this the clutch end ? and how much wobble to the clutch do you get?

yes its on the clutch side i made one motor out of two useing the best parts the crank on the original motor had a clutch on it but it was unuseable i was bent on the outer shive i guess it was hit with something fairly hard when runing iam guess ing its bent about a good 1/8 of a inch barley noticeable when looking at it i hope i can bend it back with out taking it all apart maybe with some heat and some thing to go over the taper any ideas :?

I have found two the same way
They will run but will take the outer barring and seal out in a short time and do more damage to the crank.
The crank needs to be true, the only way to do this is to remove the crank and have it done.
If you cant find anyone where you are we have a place here that will do it.

i hope this is in the right place,,,,, jeff is right take it out you will need V blocks,,,a hydraulic press and a dial indicator
and dont use heat

Hi guys,

I'm resurrecting an old thread of posts here about crank shafts. You may have also seen I added another post about the same subject today in the "General Discussion' section. So feel free to respond there as well.

While reading through this post, I'm curious about the "do not use heat" comment. I was thinking it would be a good idea to heat the crank shaft halves and press in a cold pin to reduce the press fit tolerance of the pieces.

Thoughts?
