Throttle arm

Post by husski1UP » Mon Mar 02, 2009 10:46 pm

I am in need of a throttle arm for my Hus-ski 444. Tillotsen Carb HL186A. It is the brass bar that passes thru thru the carb and the butterfly for throttle. Mine broke while riding at the Big Bay Antique and vintage snowmobile show this past weekend. Will a standard brass bar or drill rod work?

I find it a curious thing to hear of these brass rods braking. The original set up for the throttle has a stiff wire running from the throttle handle linkage to the carb. The wire has a loop in it which acts as a spring thus preventing over pulling on the throttle rod. Do you have a loop in this wire? Your throttle rod should be able to be replaced by any throtlle rod from any other carb providing it is the same diameter, has the butterfly slot in the right place etc, There are certain things about the 186A carb that makes it unique to Bolens HUS-SKI but I am sorry to say that I do not have the list.

Barrie,

I did not have the looped rod on mine. It will now however.

Thank you for the info.

Check out my post about the choke cable routing. I submitted a photo which also shows the looped wire.
