Hi Barrie
Do I understand from your posting that you have a registry of everyone who owns a 444 and their VIN # ? I don't think you have a record of the 444s I own and have owned and their VIN #
I do have my 444 vin #'s recorded so I could email them to you to add to your registry if you would like...Let me know

Hey Barrie , I've found a 63 hus ski with no vin number , I could use a new tag for this one so that I register it in ontario.
James.
Thanks in advance

The vin number is found on the lower left side of the dash decal in the clear window. Your number should start with 24000 +/-

Barrie,

Is there a way based on the serial number of the 444 that you can tell if it is a 1965 or 1966?

Two examples I've been recently asked about are 650515 and 651156.

Thanks,

Bruce

Records show that it is possible that 1700 444's were sold in 1965 but this doesnt align with brochures of that year which only advertise the 200-A and 600 which was the "new for 1965" model. Anywhere from 3000 to 4000 444's were built. This all means that a serial number below 1700 would make the machine a 1965. The 444 was built from the discarded and left over parts of the 600 debacle by BOLENS. My best guess is that all 444's were built during the summer and fall of 1965, sold in the fall of 1965 thus making them the model for 1966.
