Ah HA!!! I bet your brothers machine leaves you in the dust (snow) breathing old oil and burnt gas. JLO made a 292 cc engine which has is the identical size as the 252 but the bore or stroke is different. The 292 can also be mounted on the 252 mount without any modifications. Without examining, no one would detect a difference except for the extra 4 HP or if they read the engine tag. The previous owner of your brothers machine was very cunning to have changed the engine in this manner.

Hi Barrie, do you know what the 292 was for? Did any Hus Skis ever come with them, or did someone have to special order it to get one? By the way I am Steves brother and I am the one who ownes this machine. Thanks for the info!

Are you saying that you were the original owner and the HUS-SKI came with the 292? I have never seen any mention of a 292 in any HUS-SKI as OEM. The guys in CHalk River where the famous "HUS-SKI ride" occurs have modified their model 200-A to accept the 292 JLO. This is the only other time I have ever heard of a 292 in a HUS-SKI. Does the tag on the 292 engine designate it as L292R or L292L?
