Jackshaft and Axle Bearing Replacement Process

Post by 207_Hus-Ski » Wed Feb 02, 2022 9:19 am

Hello everyone! I've been combing through the forum looking for step by step instructions on how to remove and replace the jackshaft and axle bearings but haven't had any luck. I have purchased the replacement bearings and would like to replace them all on my 444 but I don't want to press anything the wrong way and break something. Based on the pic from the 444 owner's manual it looks like the shaft should press out in the direction that I have drawn an arrow, is that correct? Will the bearing on the splined side come out with the shaft and then the clutch side bearing will have to be pressed out of the housing?

As for the axles, do they get pressed out first and then the bearings are pressed out from the wheels? Is the inner bearing pressed into the wheel or the hub on the rear axle?

Thanks for the help!
