Tracks 65 Hus-ski

Hey all I finished assembling my 1965 444, question, one track turns slighty ahead of the other like a timing thing I tried to change to different bolt holes on the drivers but nothing changed is this a concern? Second question what is the spacing between the wood slots on the track, the drivers seem to be taring up a few of the wood drivers, tracks seem original but cant be sure I'm guessing holes maybe drilled wrong either from factory or someone made new tracks, the wood seems to be correct size, thanks for the help.

My model 400 has a slightly different timing on the rotation of the one track to the other. It is just the way the front axle was made. If you have original cotton fiber reinforce belting, that tended to shrink over time especially as it dried out from being wet. That might account for the mis-fit in pitch. If it is replacement belting, then I would think that someone did not drill the holes to the correct pitch.

The distance c to c between rivets is 3-3/4". Cleats should be 1-1/2". The off rotation does not matter. Both tracks turn at the same time however it is important that both tracks are the same length. If one track is 1/2" longer that means that in one revolution of the track that side travels 1/2' further. Your machine will want to turn in the direction of the short track and never naturally travel in a straight line.

Thanks for your input ALL.. cleat distance seems to vary from 2 1/8 inch to 2 1/2 I'm hoping this will change with running it, it seems its all on the left side not sure why, I made my own spacers in the drives both are equal and it seems to favor the left side drives are not running center, so I may need to shim the left to push it to the right side
I'm hoping for some stretching at that point i'll put new wood in.
