444 choke cable routing

Post by vintage sledder » Sun Dec 13, 2015 7:14 am

Hi Folks,

I purchased a 444 that was missing the choke cable and did not have the HL carb. I found a HL carb but am having trouble to get my new " automotive" hand choke cable to work properly. Could somebody please post pictures of the routing of the choke cable including the linkage where it attaches to he carb. This would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Your choke cable should attach to the recoil side of the carb. If it is not the carb especially for a HUS-SKI, it may be reversed but it should still meter the correct amount of gas. Your throttle safety spring attaches to the clutch side of the carb.

Thank you Barrie2777. My carb is a HL252A , not from a Hus Ski. If I understand you correctly, you are saying that both the throttle cable and the choke cable attach on the recoil side of the carb????

Thank you,

What he said was : the choke attaches on the recoil side" "the throttle attaches on the clutch side", by my reading. This puts the choke on the left and throttle on the right, as seen from the handlebar.
