600 headlight

Post by 1965 Hus-Ski » Thu Sep 10, 2015 9:17 pm

I am working on a 1965 600 hus-ski that I've had in storage way to long, but what better way of celebrating it's 50th birthday than by getting it back running (hopefully). It does not have a headlight and I was wondering what other people have used for a headlight and how much wattage of a bulb it can handle? I don't have a ring or any hardware for and was thinking of making something that would work and look nice, any sugestions?

Hi
With regards to a headlight, this is what I use...I use a General Electric 12 volt 35 watt part #4411 and it seems to work just fine for me. Another option that Would work is a Wagner 12 volt 35 watt part # 7400
Both these are sealed beam lights.
As far as the bezels, I think some Artic Cat and other vintage sleds used a very similar bezel to the Hus ski. I also think a bezel from a light such as a Grote part #64120 may work also.
I have included some photos of Artic Cat light bezel and an original NOS hus ski headlight bezel. The original bezel I believe was made by Dominion Auto part # 476 (Made in Canada).
Hopefully this will help you out.
