I bought 2 spark plugs yesterday AB 7 for my machines. Put 50/1 gas and now plugs are burn out. There all black. Wen't for some rides yesterday and use for 2 to 3 hours that's it. What am I doing wrong here. I need those machines for March 1 cause I'm going in Cochrane for a vintage ride again.

Tks

A black plug says "too much gas"....lean down the mix. Your plug should be brown in color. If it is white then you may burn the piston.

Rock: Barrie is referring to your carb setting. You may have to tighten in the adjusting screw on your carb a little at a time. When you pulled the plug was it because the machine had quit or wasn't running right or because you wanted to look at the plug? If it was still running fine, carry a spare plug and go have fun. Jim

I mix at 32:1 using Castrol super snowmobile oil and high test gas. Which machine is this plug problem?

The plug is from the 200a and the 444. They both have the same mix 50/1 with a ab7. Going to put ab6 on the week-end and try it out

One problem I had burning up plugs was I did not have the little cover that bolts on top of the carb on. What was happening was when I would hit the powder snow was working its way into the carb and the machine would just quit. I would pull the plug and it would look fine, it would still have spark but would not start. I would put a new plug in and away I would go. Since I found the cover and put it back on I haven't gone through a plug in a couple of years. Just a thought.
