Sprockets on a 600

Post by myoldhus-ski » Thu Nov 08, 2012 7:42 pm

I have discovered that the sprockets on my 600 are not perfectly in time. The drive sprockets are out a little one way and the idler sprockets are out a little the other. I took the bolts out of one and tried to remove the sprocket. It didn't want to move so I put the bolts back in rather than break the sprocket. My question concerns how the sprocket fits the shaft. Does it fit over the shaft or is the shaft constructed in such a way that the shaft locks the sprocket in place as well as the bolts. I would like to reposition one of the idler sprockets so it is the same as the drive, but I do not want to break the sprocket. Jim

If this is a single track 600, I have no idea about the sprockets. If this is a double track 600, the sprockets fit over the axle. They are probably corroded in place.
