A funny thing happened on the way to starting my Diablos. During their restoration any test starting was done with the carb covers off but outside they were installed. Starting problems ensued ?#$@!!? Diablos!!! Close examinaion of the operation of the choke butterfly found that it was in fact not closing fully because it came into contact with one of the support legs on the carb cover. I had to splay the legs a bit and drill the bolt hole "oval" to accomodate the movement. This was happening on two, original carb covers. I hope this helps others with unknown starting problems.
