Diablo Skis

Post by BillNH » Thu May 14, 2009 5:11 pm

Can anyone tell me what size the skis are as I only have 2 very small pieces that had foot loops attached. Length, Width and best material would be a big help. This machine was left under a pine tree for 25 years and will need a good bit of work. all mech work I can handles, used to fix all our old sleds including my dads Hus ski. don't know where to start on skis but if I have the dimensions and best material I can build them myself.

Welcome aboard BillNH,

The skiis are approx. 71/2"wide x 54"long x5/16" thick. The original skiis were made of maple. One of our members, Barrie2777 makes maple replicas for both the Hus ski and Diablo. :)

Hey Bill, Just wanted to say hello. Good to see another member from NH! I highly reccomend Barrie's skis. I have bought some from him and they are very strong laminated strips like originals.

Hi Bill, the skiis are 5/8" thick and not 5/16" as indicated above. My ski making process used to be on this site but I could not find it. You will have to ask Bruce where it went.

Sorry guys, it's hard to find with both websites.

Go to the original Schoobytwo website via the home page and look at the ski seater link. Scrolling down that page, you will see another link about building skis.

Again, sorry I've not fully combined the two sites yet. Not enough time to get everything done.
