seat wood frame
Hi all, I was just looking at the seat repros and they look great! I have not been fortunate enough to have ever got a machine that had an original factory seat. Does anyone have a picture of original bracket that attaches seat back to seat bottom? Anyone know of a source/vender that would reproduce the electric heat pattern on vinyl as original?

Does this help Mike? The angle is really hard to get right. Then the edges of the plywood are tapered down to make the corner. Regarding the heat pleated seat, I've not yet found a resource for that.

Thanks for the picture Bruce! I was thinking it was a metal angle bracket of some kind. So is a 2x6 wide enough to start with?

a 2x4 is plenty wide. Then you have to experiment with the angles. We used treated lumber too. The goal I believe is to get the angle of the back to match the angle of the sled back. That way when someone leans against it, the seat back rests against the ski seater frame. If it doesn't the wood will eventually break.

I have heard of a guy in Western Canada who does the heat pleating. Give me a few days to search for him

Ok Barrie, a few days have passed. I would be interested in getting some pieces heat pleated. Mike Rosholt has been making us beautiful seat covers, but if we could get the piece heat pleated, that would be icing on the cake.
