Does anyone know the diameter of the crankshaft sealing surface of the Hirth 190R motor? I need to sleeve the flywheel side on mine and do not have anything that can measure it accurately. If I can get the diameter, I can get a Speedi-Sleeve to fit, then maybe it will start again.

Hello Bill,

Doug M from New Brunswick just bought a speedi sleeve for his 190R. He tells me:

Mine was a 30 mm with covers 29.95 min to 30.07 Max shaft diameter part # 99114

I checked one of my cranks today and it too was a 30mm. So that SKF number above should be what you need. Let us know how it works.

Well, 30mm is the size, duh, all I had to do was read it off the seal. 72 x 30 x 10 is written right on the seal. finally got the speedi sleeve and new seal installed, after clearing the flooded crankcase, it fired right up. The bad part is there's no snow and 55 degrees out, so I can't ride. After almost a year of not starting, it purrs like a kitten at idle. Now I need some snow to ride any of my three machines. I haven't left the yard on a sled all winter. The only one that was running was the Hus ski mongrel, which I rode around the yard a few times, as the trails have not been rideable, all winter. I haven't even taken my Arctic Cat off the trailer yet.
