Secondary clutch with riveted pins

Pre-run inspection on Saturday morning revealed that one rivet had let go on my secondary clutch ( was off a 500). Later clutches used threaded ends and nuts. I decided to repair it before the run. Luckily, I had a set of threaded pins. The holes had to be drilled larger, but all went well. I noticed that the original riveted pins were smaller in diameter than the holes in the outer sheave. Once those rivets loosened up , the pins started to wear and the holes in the sheave were oblong. There was actually a second set of holes in the sheave that lined up perfectly. If you have a clutch with rivets , you may want to inspect it for play and repair it in the off-season.
