I would still go with the tow rope idea and they just couldn't figure out how to attach it solidly to an already shaky front end. Congrats to Roy a dedicated DIABLO rider but Math...have you changed your aligence??

Through the early years of my collecting, there was very little information available on either the Diablo Rouge or any model of HUS-SKI. Most of what I determined about any particular model was through observation of found machines in a complete state. Now, with the internet and a wealth of info available we pretty well know what is what about these machines. Bruce has the advantage of being in an area where there machines were made ( at least there is a bounty of new parts available ) and has gathered much info and all to our benefit. The attached photo is of a "mystery Part" from a Diablo which I was begining to concider as original because I had seen so many machines with it installed and heard of so many more with the same feature. The first reader to correctly identify it will receive an other prize dedicated to this part.

Good guess but one clue was "I was begining to concider as original ..." and this piece is aluninum therefore not on the model 500.

The only aluminum piece I've seen shaped like that on a Diablo is the front bumper, which my 502 has. Is your prize a tow hook of some kind??
